New look, same great physics!

The GyroRing Pro-Edition is an upgraded version of its predecessor, the original GyroRing. Normally, they say nothing beats an original…except when it’s faster and better looking! And that’s exactly what you get with the GyroRing Pro-Edition. All the great features from the original are here—the awesome lessons in physics, the hours of entertainment—all made to look better and perform faster.

The GyroRing Pro-Edition is specifically designed to perform better for those who have mastered the original, machine-balanced to be as fast as lightning after a case of Red Bulls for those insane competition stunts like “Over the Falls,” “Roller Coaster,” and “Ring of Fire.”

The five brass discs are what give the GyroRing Pro-Edition its enhanced performance. With the ring in hand, give the five odd-shaped brass tops a strike to get them spinning. As you continue to spin the ring, the discs will keep on gaining speed and spin faster and faster. This is what’s known in the world of physics as precession. The rotation of the spinning axis causes the ring to press against one side of the ring, creating a contact point where energy is transferred and causes them to spin.

Perform amazing tricks for your students, your friends and family or just pick a nice street corner to set up shop and dazzle strangers all while giving them a fun lesson in science (whether they realize it or not)! In addition to the ring and discs, with the GyroRing Pro-Edition, you’re bound to get a few heads spinning as well!

Features:

  • Large 10" ring w/ 5 small colorful rings
  • Very durable
  • Provides hours of entertainment

How Does The Gyro-Ring Work?

The Gyro-Ring is really just five little tops of unusual design strung on a metal ring. Do you remember how tops appear to start "wobbling" as they slow down? This rotation of the spinning axis is called precession and causes the ring to press on one side of the hole in the spinning top. The contact point between the ring and the top can be thought of as a gear that changes the motion of the upward moving ring into the top's spinning motion.
